A Linux box you ssh into.
A machine of your own, with sudo and apt, reachable from your terminal in one line. Nothing to migrate onto and no platform to adopt.
What you get
- The OS is an Ubuntu-derived distro that tracks upstream Ubuntu security updates.
- It is a real KVM-isolated virtual machine, not a shared-kernel container or a gVisor sandbox, with its own kernel and its own disk.
- You have sudo and apt, so you install what you need: a production API, a web application, a database, a staging site, or an experiment.
- Every machine publishes one or more names, like payments-api.deployport.app, and includes an HTTPS certificate that even works with your own web domain.
- It answers ssh on a name of its own, from any client with no Deployport binary installed, and a stopped machine starts when you connect to it.
- Snapshots and restore, a firewall you can read, and the macOS and Windows apps when you would rather click.
